Tomorrow starts the 14th edition of Sail Racing 2017 PalmaVela, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma and sponsored by Sail Racing. The regatta includes a record fleet of 12 Wallys and will be the first scoring competition on the calendar for the Wally Class 2017 international circuit.

The two Reichel/Pugh designed WallyCento’s are ready to start their 2017 campaigns with their eyes on the Wally Season Championship.

Magic Carpet 3, launched in 2013 claimed the 2014 Wally Season Championship in their first full season of racing. Now in her fifth season with a veteran crew and a highly optimized platform the team hopes the replicate this achievement.

Galateia, built by Green Marine and launched in 2015 enters their first full season of Wally class racing with a highly talented crew eager to build on the successful last season split between the Caribbean Superyacht and the Mediterranean Wally circuits .

These two WallyCento class yachts were design and engineered by Reichel/Pugh and have been continually optimized to extract the maximum performance for the season’s venues and changes to the rating rule. Stay tuned to the action as they go head to head in the Wally class and we bring some onboard media from Company President Jim Pugh aboard Magic Carpet 3 and Senior Naval Architect Tony Beale aboard Galateia.
