Invisible Hand, Bad Pak and Wizard Sweep 2015 Cabo Race ORR1
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (March 26, 2015) – The 63’ R/P-designed Invisible Hand took 1st place in ORR Class 1 in the 800nm Newport to Cabo Race down the Baja peninsula followed by R/P-designed Bad Pak 65’ and Wizard 72’.

2015 Bucket Regatta: A Fine Ending To A Grand Event
St Barths, French West Indies (March 22, 2015) – Perseverance was the key to victory in four classes (Gazelles, Elegantes, Mademoiselles, Grande Dames) sailing their last and final race at the 2015 St Barths Bucket Regatta. Sailing the “wrong way around” course meant the 35 competing superyachts launched their massive spinnakers at the start and took a clockwise tour of the island, testing sailing skills with a particularly lengthy beat up the backside. And though the superyachts, for safety’s sake, sail by rules that keep them at least 40 metres apart at all times, the competition was as close as anyone could wish for. (more…)

After a successful season winning in Sardinia and St Tropez Sir Lindsay Owen Jones sat down with Seahorse Magazine’s Blue Robinson to reflect on a passion for combining speed with elegance that stems from childhood dingy sailing, racing cars and love of family. In partnership with Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and Luca Bassani of Wally, MC3 marked the peak of performance cruising technology and birth of the Wallycento Class.

RP 66 Alive Back-To-Back Winner Of SYC’s Sail Paradise Regatta
Gold Coast, Australia (Mar 8, 2015) – Alive, owned by Tasmanian Phillip Turner, have today been crowned the champions at Southport Yacht Club’s XXXX Sail Paradise Regatta for 2015. This is a back-to-back win for Alive after first competing in the inaugural regatta in 2014. (more…)

Shockwave Wins 2015 Pineapple Cup – Montego Bay Race (811nm)
Montego Bay, Jamaica (February 9, 2015) – George Sakellaris’s Reichel/Pugh-designed, McConaghy-built 72-foot Shockwave stormed through the Windward Passage in the wee hours on Feb. 8, taking aim to break the record set in 2005 by the 75-foot Reichel/Pugh Titan 12 of 2 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes, 42 seconds. Visione Victorious at Superyacht Challenge Antigua
Antigua (February 1, 2015) – The Reichel/Pugh designed 147’ Visione took 2nd overall and 1st in Class 1. The German flagged Visione was built by Baltic Yachts and launched in 2002. Considered a revolutionary design then, Visione’s performance is still unmatched.

(December 2014) – The Offshore Racing Rule has announced the top three finishers in the 2014 ORR West Coast Northern Series Championship. Boats must have raced in a minimum of two of the following races, including one distance race to qualify: Spinnaker Cup, Pacific Cup and Big Boat Series.

Porto Cervo, Italy (September 6, 2014) – Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (Annual): Classico Costa Smeralda
With the wind speed peaking at over 20 knots on the deep blue Costa Smeralda, framed by the rugged backdrop of the Sardinian coast, the conditions for the last day of the regatta were nothing short of spectacular. 2014 Copa Del Rey Champions: Shockwave and HURAKAN
Palma de Mallorca, Spain (August 9, 2014) – The 33rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE finished today off the island of Mallorca. The Bay of Palma reaffirmed its reputation with good wind conditions throughout the week, and a bit more excitement on the final day with an irregular wind that reduced the sailing schedule to a single race. Scarlet Runner Wins Pacific Cup Grand Slam / Invisible Hand Takes Line Honours

Reichel/Pugh 72′ Shockwave Triumphs at the 49th NEWPORT-BERMUDA RACE
Congratulations to the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts competing in the 2014 NEWPORT to BERMUDA Ocean Race (635 nautical miles).
New York Yacht Club/Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (June 23rd 2014) – George Sakellaris’ R/P-designed/engineered and McConaghy-built 72’ Mini Maxi SHOCKWAVE took fleet line honors and wins the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse Trophy taking 1st Place Overall under both ORR and IRC. SHOCKWAVE takes multiple silver, also snatching the Corporation of Hamilton Trophy for the first yacht to finish in fleet ( best elapsed time) and the North Rock Beacon Trophy for the best IRC corrected time in fleet. The latter, a silver replica of the 1960-1990 North Rock Light Tower that once warned mariners of the rocky approach to Bermuda from the North. (more…)

Reichel/Pugh 66’ KODIAK Wins Overall Performance Trophy at 49th NEWPORT-BERMUDA RACE
New York Yacht Club/Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (June 23rd 2014) – Edwin Llwyd Ecclestone’s R/P designed and McConaghy built 66’ KODIAK took Line Honors in the St. David’s Lighthouse Division and won overall Class 8 in ORR. KODIAK repeated her Line Honors and Class win of the 2012 race and also won the Overall Performance Trophy as the Class Winner on Corrected Time which beat the next two yachts in her class by the largest margin. Organized by the YCCS and Boat International Media and first launched in 2008, this is the regatta that opens the Mediterranean superyacht calendar.
Lord Irvine Laidlaw’s RP designed and Goetz Boats built Wally RP82’ Maxi Highland Fling XI dominated the Performance Division scoring 4 bullets in 4 races to take 1st place overall.
