Porto Cervo, Italy (September 6, 2014) – Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (Annual): Classico Costa Smeralda
With the wind speed peaking at over 20 knots on the deep blue Costa Smeralda, framed by the rugged backdrop of the Sardinian coast, the conditions for the last day of the regatta were nothing short of spectacular. Palma de Mallorca, Spain (August 9, 2014) – The 33rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE finished today off the island of Mallorca. The Bay of Palma reaffirmed its reputation with good wind conditions throughout the week, and a bit more excitement on the final day with an irregular wind that reduced the sailing schedule to a single race. The King, H.R.M. King Felipe, presided over the official prize giving. (more…)

Congratulations to the owners and crews of the Reichel/Pugh designed yachts competing in the 2014 NEWPORT to BERMUDA Ocean Race (635 nautical miles).
New York Yacht Club/Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (June 23rd 2014) – George Sakellaris’ R/P-designed/engineered and McConaghy-built 72’ Mini Maxi SHOCKWAVE took fleet line honors and wins the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse Trophy taking 1st Place Overall under both ORR and IRC. SHOCKWAVE takes multiple silver, also snatching the Corporation of Hamilton Trophy for the first yacht to finish in fleet ( best elapsed time) and the North Rock Beacon Trophy for the best IRC corrected time in fleet. The latter, a silver replica of the 1960-1990 North Rock Light Tower that once warned mariners of the rocky approach to Bermuda from the North. (more…)

New York Yacht Club/Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (June 23rd 2014) – Edwin Llwyd Ecclestone’s R/P designed and McConaghy built 66’ KODIAK took Line Honors in the St. David’s Lighthouse Division and won overall Class 8 in ORR. KODIAK repeated her Line Honors and Class win of the 2012 race and also won the Overall Performance Trophy as the Class Winner on Corrected Time which beat the next two yachts in her class by the largest margin. (February 26, 2014) – George Sakellaris’ Reichel/Pugh designed and McConaghy built 72’ Mini Maxi Shockwave has won overall the RORC CARIBBEAN 600 for the best IRC corrected time in the sixty boat fleet. The 6th edition of this increasingly popular 600 nm classic started off Antigua on February 24th and covered a tough and exhilarating course around 11 islands before finishing off Antigua. (more…)

Organized by the YCCS and Boat International Media and first launched in 2008, this is the regatta that opens the Mediterranean superyacht calendar.
Lord Irvine Laidlaw’s RP designed and Goetz Boats built Wally RP82’ Maxi Highland Fling XI dominated the Performance Division scoring 4 bullets in 4 races to take 1st place overall.

Bella Mente Finishes First in the 2011 Transpac Race, Winning the Barn Door Trophy and setting a New Course Record.
Congratulations Hap Fauth and the crew of the Mini Maxi Bella Mente for their record setting performance in the 2011 Transpac Race.
Transpacific Yacht Club, Hawaii, USA (July 15th, lato 2011) – Hap Fauth’s Reichel/Pugh designed and New England Boatworks built Mini Maxi Bella Mente crossed the finish line off Diamond Head, Hawaii at 05:34:28 HST finishing first in the 46th runnning of the 2225 nautical mile Transpac Race. Hap Fauth’s East Coast based Bella showed the best from the West the way to Hawaii with a blistering pace of 13.59 knots given the conditions were moderate to light. Bella won the unique Transpacific Yacht Club Perpetual Trophy – a 3.5′ x 4′ plaque of hand carved Hawaiian Koa wood – better know as the ‘Barn Door’ traditionally awarded to the fixed keel cheap mlb jerseys monohull yacht employing no SA3D stored energy with the fastest elapsed time. Bella Mente set a New Barn Door course record of 6 days, 19 hours 39 minutes 28 seconds beating the record of 7 days and 11 hours set in 1999 by Roy Disney’s RP75, Pyewacket the III. Bella Mente won the 2009 Mini cheap nfl jerseys Maxi Season Championship.
