RP52 Vincitore and James Mitchell

November 1, 2015

James Martin Mitchell
April 6, 1932 – July 29, 2015

Owner of RP52 Vincitore and native Chicagoan James Mitchell passed away this July leaving a beautiful sailing legacy sure to continue. The head of a family of sailors, he raced with his two sons and two grandsons on the Great Lakes and around the world. Vincitore was named Overall Rolex US IRC National Champion in 2009 after winning: the 2009 International Rolex Regatta (St Thomas), 2009 Nanny Cay Cup, 2009 BVI Spring Regatta, 2009 Chicago Mackinac Race, 2009 Bayview Mackinac Race and the 2009 Big Boat Series.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Discover.
